• Shri Sahu joined Indian Administrative Service in 1980

• After working in various field positions & Corporations for more than 13 years, he worked more than 5 years in Government of India, in the ministry of Industry dealing with various Policy related issues

• He handled the work of Earth-Quake Reconstruction and also worked as Industries Commissioner for a period of about 3 years

• After a brief stint in the Ministry of Environment & Forest as Joint secretary, he took up an UN assignment as Director of an International Technology Centre

• He worked as Joint secretary in Department of Telecom, Government of India for about 4 years

• Before taking over his current assignment as Principal Secretary (Industries & Mines), Government of Gujarat, he worked as Vice Chairman & Managing Director of Gujarat Industrial Development Corporation, Gandhinagar
